That Thing - High School (gr. 9-grads)

That Thing is a conference-style, week-long camp/event for high school students focused on engaging their discipleship pathway to help ignite passion and purpose in the students’ faith. That Thing is an evangelistic, discipleship, and missional camp moving students beyond just a profession of faith to focusing on learning, calling, justice, and bringing hope into their homes and communities.

This year’s theme focuses in on the foundation of following Christ. Through worship and unpacking times, we’ll be uncovering a core value of discipleship and its anchor points that will help us to be a light in the darkness, to fight for justice, and to stand firm through the storms of life. We hope that every student brings their doubts, their frustrations, their joys, and their victories to the cross this summer and finds anchor in covenant with Christ.

Church Leader Information:

This program is split-designed for students to come individually (church leadership optional) or as a group wanting an event for their students to stay together and their leaders will participate and lead a cabin (adults are free).

Our staff gear up all the activities, curriculum, schedule, devotions, worship times and more, allowing pastors and youth workers to focus on their students’ discipleship and development with easy planning/preparation. Best of all, leaders can customize these options to use as much or as little as best suits their group.

Young Adult/College Retreat - Post High - Age 25

Start 2019 Off Right - In the midst of papers, in the midst of internships, in the midst of all nighters, venti coffees, break ups, and proposals, there's a season of life that can be summed up in two ways for many believers launching into adulthood: walking away from faith or finding true worth and confidence in Jesus Christ as He calls you to something deeper. God has created you for a purpose and as you learn that and navigate adulthood, there is an opportunity for intimate growth in a relationship with the Creator. This weekend retreat is designed as a connection point. Before heading back off to school, come connect with other believers, learn more about who God is, and find rest in His power and grace.

Winter retreat for young adults and college students (college freshman - age 25) is a perfect time to grow in discipleship and renewal. Life is crazy during the college years, but it doesn't have to be a season of isolation or stagnant spiritual growth. Come together with other young adults to connect, learn, rest, and worship.

Next - 13-15 & Mentor

In 2017, 427 Impact 2818 campers responded to a calling to vocational ministry in their life's calling. For 2019, we are launching a new program through the partnership of pastors and ministry leaders wanting to help students explore, unpack, and begin a mentor process to better understand their ministry calling in the years ahead.

Students ages 15 & under are invited to Epworth Forest for a winter program alongside an adult mentor. Students and their families should identify a leader in their faith community (a pastor, youth leader, coach, family friend, or other ministry partner) who will commit to helping to guide this young person through the years ahead in finding clarity and progress towards their calling.

Both students and leaders will be trained and prepared for how to address the steps ahead while finding encouragement and spiritual inspiration at the event.
