Earn a Rebate

All new rebate option! You could actually get paid to fill those beds! Buy a whole lodge, or multiple, and fill most of those beds up and we will rebate you up to the entire last 10% of your lodge based on students attending.

Ex 1 - If your lodge costs $9,706 and has 35 student beds and you bring 35 students, that’s all 10% after 90%. You’ll get $970.63 back.
Ex 2 – If your lodge costs $7,658 and has 25 student beds and you bring 23 students, that’s 92% full; 2% is coming back to you which is $153.16. (So, why not just give away those last two beds and you could get even more.)
Ex 3 – If you booked multiple lodges and have 58 student beds ($16,385) and bring 55 students, you’re at 94.83% and that 4.83% is going to give you a $791.01 rebate.

Two Updated Lodges Reopening!

We are reopening two lodges, Parkview & Jubilee, with some good upgrades!

The improvements include:
Climate control (insulation, central air, new windows); New Bathrooms (new flooring, wall coverings, fixtures, etc); Kitchen Remodel; General Aesthetic Comfort (real twin mattress bunks, new wall coverings, new siding, and new doors)

We are excited about Buck Lodge opening in the fall of 2018 with 60 beds, but there is also a need for more quality housing to serve smaller sized groups. These soon to be reinvigorated facilities will move the experience at Epworth Forest Conference Center forward for many students.

Half Lodge Option

We are now offering an option to book just half a lodge. We know some groups find the big lodges a bit too large, you can now secure a portion of the space. You will most likely end up sharing that space, but it’s a great opportunity to be great stewards and build new friendships.

Additionally, if you fill all of your student beds within 1 of your capacity with students, you will be given a free campfire dinner during camp on Wednesday or Thursday

Free Adult Leaders

Each lodge you purchase comes with four free adult leader beds. If you would like more space, you can rent a private hotel style room in Freeland at Epworth, or you may use some of your student beds.

Reserve Your Lodging & Event Tickets

When you stay on site at Epworth for That Thing, your lodging purchase options below covers your housing and event ticket. Your students and adults are free to utilize as much of the event as your group digs into; meals, snacks, tubing, and merchandise are the only not-included event expenses.

Each lodge includes a kitchen and dining area where, if you choose, your group can prepare your own meals. Epworth's dining service is open to your group as an option as well. 2018 Meal prices are: Breakfast-$6.75, Lunch-$7.75, Dinner-$8.75

Off-Site Group Tickets

Some groups choose to come to That Thing and stay off-site because they are nearby, have/rent a cabin near the camp, or it just fits their situation and needs. That's totally fine! Here's what you might want to know...

Multiple Lodge Bookings Fee Schedules & Policies

Expectations

  • Adult Leader Expectations require that both genders be represented and we recommend a 20:2 ratio.

Incentives

  • Alternative fee schedule option - Pay the $75 per student bed deposit; Remaining balance is due on August 1. To be eligible for the alternative fee schedule, you must have booked a lodge each of the past 3 years and paid all Impact 2818 balances on time in full.
  • Rebate on 90%-100% of total student bed capacity after 90% of beds are used by students. (not per lodge but based on total capacity)

Multiple Lodge Cancellation Terms

  • Cancellations up to March 15; Non-Refundable portion of deposit of $75 per student bed is retained by Impact 2818, any balance will be returned to the Purchaser.
  • Cancellations after March 15 Purchaser is held responsible for payment in full for all lodges reserved, no refunds after this date
  • Non-Refundable Deposits may not be rolled to any other camp registration, downgrading to a smaller lodge, dining hall, or retreat fees at this or any site.

Private Lodge Fee Schedule

Half Lodge Bookings Fee Schedules & Policies

Expectations

  • Adult Leader Expectations require 1 adult matching every 1-10 students of a gender; 11-20 students will require a second adult of that gender. Your adult leadership is limited to the number of beds granted to your purchase, additional housing is available in Freeland if needed.
  • You are purchasing half of the student beds available and that is defined as half of each gender specific room; those numbers are defined by Impact 2818. If there is a slight gender imbalance, the first group purchasing space in the lodge will get to choose their gender imbalance preference.
    • Should the other half of your lodge not be purchased, you will have the ability to flex your gender bed space within your allotted ticket numbers. If you need additional tickets, see the upgrade options below.
  • There is only 1 kitchen in each lodge, you will either need to cooperate with the other group or purchase meal plans in the camp dining hall.
  • It is up to you and the other group if you would like to do cooperative/shared devotion and small group times. Additional meeting spaces at camp may be available if needed at no additional charge.

Incentives

  • If you fill all of your student beds within 1 of your capacity, you will be given a free campfire dinner during camp on Wednesday or Thursday

  • Should the other half of your lodge not be booked, you can upgrade to the full lodge rate or
  • Starting May 1, you may purchase additional, if other half of lodge is unbooked, single tickets at the cost of $325

Off-Site Ticket Cancellation Terms

  • Same as Individual Ticket (campus house) Cancellation Terms
  • Cancellations up to two weeks prior to the start of the event; Non-Refundable portion of deposit ($75) is retained by Impact 2818, any balance will be returned to the Purchaser.
  • Cancellations within two weeks of the start of the event; Purchaser is held responsible for payment in full of 100% of ticket cost, no refunds after this date.

Off-Site Ticket Fee Schedule

  • Deposit of $75 per ticket (Non-Refundable deposit is $75 per ticket)
  • April 1 • 50% of total ticket cost is due
  • June 1 • 100% total balance, minus any redeemed scholarships (officially awarded by Impact 2818), is due
