How is Horse Camp Different?

Horse camp is very similar to a traditional camp experience with meals, cabins, and worship. However, two thirds of horse camper’s activity time is spent in the Barn learning basic animal husbandry and riding skills. The nature of this camp is to give campers a normal camp experience with a focus on Horse care and riding. Have all the same fun but with horses too!

Clear Gospel Message

Horse campers get to experience one of the most beautiful creatures God created in a close and personal setting. During training, campers learn how God cares for all of his creation big and small. This along with regular camp worship times, devotional activities, and big events like Station night, allows campers to grow closer to God and develop a personal relationship with Christ.

Experience

  • Residential Horse Camp
  • Equine Safety
  • Western Riding Approach
  • Barn Operations
  • Horse Care
  • Tack Identification
  • Along with Traditional Camp activities

**How much riding is experienced during this camp is subjective. Riding times varies based on number of campers, horses availability/temperament and other factors. Horse camper’s WILL ride but we do not guarantee riding each day.**

All Skill Levels Welcome

  • Little to no experience with horses is needed. Introductory horse lovers will find a welcoming and encouraging space to interact with and build comfort with horses as you progress from foundation to advanced skills regardless of age. Learn the basics and get to engage with horses in a safe environment.
  • Long Time & Experienced Riders will find a great experience discovering more about horses and participating in peer leadership throughout the event as they strengthen and further develop their skills. They will get the chance to assist those younger than them in developing their skills as well as engaging during camp in a new way.
  • Horses will be provided. Let your horse enjoy a small vacation staying at home this week while you get to discover a new relationship with a new equine friend at camp. Just make sure to check the packing list so you don’t forget any gear you may need!
  • This camp varies week to week based on the type of camper’s who sign up. Skill levels per week will vary from experienced to beginner. Our leader’s will gear each weeks activities based off the skill level of the camper’s. Our camp’s tend to be best for beginner to intermediate level’s of horse riding. We do not do trail rides at this time and all riding takes place in our arena. For further questions about your week of camp feel free to email or call us!
