What is Horse Camp?

Horse Camp runs alongside our traditional weeks of camp but re-imagines what camp can be. Horse campers stay in cabins and interact with the rest of the camp, but this smaller group spends their rotation time at the barn learning animal husbandry and basic riding skills. Campers should expect to spend most of their time at the barn working with horses and learning about the marvels of God’s creation. Our Horse Barn Manager has years of experience with riding and showing horses and brings her passion with her during these horse camp weeks. This is a great camp for those who have a special passion or interest in horses. This is also a great camp for those who may have a small amount of experience with horses they wish to develop further or those who attended a horse camp with us previously.

The Gospel Message

Horses are just one of many of God’s beautiful creations. They teach confidence, flexibility, loyalty, and honesty. Spending a week with horses will allow for your camper to see not only God’s creation, but also allow for campers to experience love in a brand new way. Our Barn Manager works to make scripture parallel the care for, and riding of horses. Our goal is for you to master the basics of both riding, and being a Christian! Come to Pine Creek and develop your camper’s sense of self, develop trust and identity in Christ.

*Riding times are dependent upon horse temperament & instructor’s confidence in camper ability. We do not guarantee ride time or how advanced the riding skills taught will be. This is determined based on the skill level of all the campers in attendance. We do guarantee each camper will ride at least once and every opportunity will be taken to ride during the week.

COVID Precautions

With COVID impacting everything this season, Pine Creek will be taking a special interest in protecting our campers. Check-in and Check-out will be a low contact, drive-thru style. Disinfecting program materials and shared spaces will be standard practice. The camp week will also re-focus on the cabin groups, without losing any of the connection and fun you expect any other year.
