Epworth’s Group Lodging

Purchase a block of tickets that include your lodging and your event program experience. The block gives you complete direction over the cabin you select and you can fill it as you see fit even subletting your space to other groups to join your group as you desire.

There are various cabin sizes from 18-54 and some groups even book multiple cabins in order to make their experience work best for their community or group of churches. Each lodge has an appropriately sized kitchen where meals can be prepared or you can utilize Epworth’s food service for an additional fee.

Use the Lodge Matrix below to select a ticket-block/lodge.

Off Site Lodging

There are four commonly used off-site lodges very close to Epworth Forest Conference Center:  Huntington Trinity (260.356.0961), Kokomo Grace (765.457.5329) and Decatur Heights (260.724.3158). If you choose to use those lodges, please secure your lodging through those owners.

You would then need to purchase an Off-Site Ticket for each student; cost does not include food or overnight lodging. It is simply the program experience at the event. You will have full access to every program opportunity of anyone staying at That Thing.

Use the Off-Site Section below to purchase tickets.

Individual Tickets

If you are, or are helping, a student who would like to attend That Thing but does not have a church or church leaders who will be purchasing a lodge space at That Thing, Individual Tickets are the solution.

Students can stay in the Campus House, a lodge led by the That Thing team and volunteer counselors. Church leaders are welcome to join if they would like. The cost covers the entire experience, including food.

Use the Campus House section below to register a student for That Thing

Climate control (insulation, central air, new windows); New Bathrooms (new flooring, wall coverings, fixtures, etc); Kitchen Remodel; General Aesthetic Comfort, & More

Earn a Rebate

You could actually get paid to fill those beds! Buy a whole lodge, or multiple, and fill most of those beds up and we will rebate you up to the entire last 10% of your lodge based on students attending.

Ex 1 - If your lodge costs $9,706 and has 35 student beds and you bring 35 students, that’s all 10% after 90%. You’ll get $970.63 back.
Ex 2 – If your lodge costs $7,658 and has 25 student beds and you bring 23 students, that’s 92% full; 2% is coming back to you which is $153.16. (So, why not just give away those last two beds and you could get even more.)
Ex 3 – If you booked multiple lodges and have 58 student beds ($16,385) and bring 55 students, you’re at 94.83% and that 4.83% is going to give you a $791.01 rebate.

Half Lodge Option

We are now offering an option to book just half a lodge. We know some groups find the big lodges a bit too large, so you can now secure a portion of the space. You will most likely end up sharing that space, but it’s a great opportunity to be great stewards and build new friendships.

Additionally, if you fill all of your student beds within 1 of your capacity with students, you will be given a free campfire dinner during camp on Wednesday or Thursday

Adult Leader Expectations require 1 adult matching every 1-10 students of a gender; 11-20 students will require a second adult of that gender. Your adult leadership is limited to the number of beds granted to your purchase, additional housing is available in Freeland if needed.

You are purchasing half of the student beds available and that is defined as half of each gender specific room; those numbers are defined by Impact 2818. If there is a slight gender imbalance, the first group purchasing space in the lodge will get to choose their gender imbalance preference.

Should the other half of your lodge not be purchased, you will have the ability to flex your gender bed space within your allotted ticket numbers. If you need additional tickets, see the upgrade options below.

There is only 1 kitchen in each lodge, you will either need to cooperate with the other group or purchase meal plans in the camp dining hall.

It is up to you and the other group if you would like to do cooperative/shared devotion and small group times. Additional meeting spaces at camp may be available if needed at no additional charge.

Off-Site Group Tickets

Some groups choose to come to That Thing and stay off-site because they are nearby, have/rent a cabin near the camp, or it just fits their situation and needs. That’s totally fine! Here’s what you might want to know…

Leaders do not pay to attend That Thing. They do, however, need to be registered as volunteers and background checked.

Attending That Thing with off-site lodging...

An Off-Site Ticket cost does not include food or overnight lodging at Epworth Forest CC. It is simply the program cost of the event. You will have full access to every program opportunity of anyone staying at That Thing.

The most commonly used off-site lodges are Huntington Trinity (260.356.0961), Kokomo Grace (765.457.5329) and Decatur Heights (260.724.3158).

If you are renting the lodge from a church, you will want to factor that cost into your overall budget.

In some instances, staying off-site may put your group further away from the rest of the camp. Please be aware of any additional travel times as well as a physical separation that may exist between your students and the rest of the attendees because of any distance.

You must contact the camp registrar before May 18th to apply any student scholarships to your ticket balance. Families should apply for scholarships by April 20th in order to ensure their application will be processed before this redemption deadline.

Off-Site Ticket Prices
1-12 students - $328
13-21 students - $308
22-34 students - $303
35-47 students - $292
48+ students - $281
