2021 Special Hybrid Pricing Model: 2020 was going to offer two pricing models: Legacy Pricing (the old model) and a New Pricing model. For 2021, a Special Hybrid Pricing model is in effect. This model provides the greatest savings to the greatest number of groups, and simplifies the pricing strategy during this unique year.

2021 group prices have been additionally subsidized $10/student by generous scholarship donations.  This subsidy may not be available in 2022 without generous support.

Student tickets include both lodging and program activities.


Lodging Options

Epworth Forest Conference Center’s Lodges

Epworth’s lodges range in sizes from as few as 12 to as many as 54 student beds. Each lodge includes a kitchen for your group to prepare meals, bunk beds, common areas, and more. Reserve your lodge using the minimum reservation and only pay for the number of students who attend That Thing. 4-6 non-student volunteer leaders & cooks can stay overnight in your lodge at no additional cost.

*$20 will automatically be taken off of any student tickets purchased above the reservation minimum!

  • Buck Lodge – $420.00 per student*; Sleeps up to 54 students and 6 adults; Reservation minimum 48
  • Duecker – $420.00 per student*; Sleeps up to 26 students and 4 adults; Reservation minimum 22
  • Fenstermacher – $420.00 per student*; Sleeps up to 24 students and 4 adults; Reservation minimum 21
  • Jubilee – $400.00 per student*; Sleeps up to 18 students and 4 adults; Reservation minimum 12
  • Parkview – $400.00 per student*; Sleeps up to 18 students and 4 adults; Reservation minimum 12
  • Cartwright – Campus Housing for Individual Tickets
  • Strawbridge – $390.00 per student*; Sleeps up to 33 students and 4 adults; Reservation minimum 29
  • Embury – $390.00 per student*; Sleeps up to 29 students and 4 adults; Reservation minimum 15

Dining Service (Optional)

Epworth’s lodges all include a kitchen and dining area in the cabin. Dining service is available for your group if you would like the convenience of not planning or preparing meals during That Thing. Contact our Retreat Booking Team at Epworth at 574.834.2212 at least 3 weeks before camp begins.

Why do the links to lodges show a different minimum?

When you follow the links to the lodges above, those show the Epworth facilities, rates, and minimums as used by retreats. For That Thing, we are making special exceptions to those minimums to provide greater access to churches by reducing those minimums.

Cancelation Policy & Fee Schedule

Policies & Guidelines

Volunteer Leader Expectations:
Adult Leader representing both genders must accompany students at That Thing; we recommend a 20:2 ratio. A background check for all adults must be completed at least 3 weeks prior to the start of the event.

Cancellation Terms:

  • Cancellations may be made at any time. 35% of the lodge minimum is non-refundable and will be retained by Impact 2818.  Any balance above those amounts will be returned to the group who purchased the tickets and secured the lodging reservation.
  • Cancellations due to positive COVID-19 cases in your group during the 4 week period leading up to your event will be issued a 100% refund.
  • The cancellation fee (35%) may not be rolled to any other camp registration, downgrading to a smaller lodge, dining hall, or retreat fees at this or any site.

Group Reservation Fee Schedule:

  • Initial Deposit (due at time of purchase) • 10% of booking minimum is due
  • April 5 • 50% of minimum booking balance is due
  • June 5 • 75% of minimum booking balance is due
  • August 31 • 100% of total bill, minus any redeemed scholarships (officially awarded by Impact 2818), is due
